Georgian UFC Fighter Merab Dvalishvili Defeats Brazilian Jose Aldo, Celebrates 7th Victory in a Row

Georgian UFC fighter Merab Dvalishvili defeated veteran fighter and former featehrweight champion Jose Aldo at the UFC 278 event by unanimous decision.

Thereby it is the 7th victory in Dvalishvili’s winning streak. Currently Merab Dvalishvili is ranked #6 in the UFC’s bantamweight division.

The fight between Georgian and Brazilian athletes continued for three rounds, Dvalishvili defeating the opponent with points.

After the fight, Dvalishvili praised his opponent by calling him a “legend” and “amazingly humble person” and said he was ready to face “any opponent” in his division, except for his American counterpart and “friend” Aljamain Sterling.

Conor McGregor, an Irish professional mixed martial artist, had responded to Dvalishvili’s victory in his tweet, calling him “great little fighter.”

“Those Georgians are really under rated tho and largely unknown. But many incredible wrestler grapplers hail from here. Certainly straight wrestlers. This guy Mirab is a great little fighter!”, he twitted.
