Teachers Trade Union head wins trial against journalists

Tbilisi Civil Court ruled in favor of Georgian Pedagogues and Scientists Trade Union Head Manana Ghurchumelidze in the trial against Akhali Ganatleba (New Education) newspaper journalists Davit Peradze and Ketevan Dolidze.

The court called the information spread by the journalists slander.

“The articles were about Ghurchumelidze’s personality and it was slander,” the trade union’s judiciary department told Georgia Today.

According to the department, the journalists will have to apologize and pay a small fine.
