German Academic Exchange Service alumni meet today

German Academic Exchange Service “DAAD- ambassadors 2010” alumni meeting will be held today at the Goethe-Institute at 19:00.
German Ambassador Patricia Flor will give a welcoming speech. DAAD Information Center Head Gebhard Reul will also attend the meeting.
Movies reflecting on students’ experience, as well as Georgia’s development in the last 20 years, will be shown at the meeting, Reul told Georgia Today.
Fifty representatives of various Georgian universities and research institutes will support volunteers at the DAAD center as “DAAD – ambassadors” in the coming year.
The German Academic Exchange Service/DAAD, a joint institution of German universities, establishes academic relations with other countries through the exchange of students and scholars.
DAAD has more than 200 programs for foreigners and Germans. With nearly 60,000 people supported by foreigners and Germans, DAAD is the world’s largest academic exchange organization.
Every year some 100 Georgian students, graduates and academics receive DAAD grants.
The organization has three lecturers at Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi universities. Interested parties can apply directly to the DAAD Information Center at 16 Sandukeli St.
