Russia Supplies the UK with Liquified Natural Gas

Russia will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Yamal-LNG project of Novatek to the UK. The demand for gas in Europe has increased dramatically because of storm Emma, which brought serious amounts of snow and freezing temperatures. This information was released by The Financial Times.

The British-Dutch oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell will deliver Russian gas to Britain. In the last few days in the Bay of Biscay, the Shell ship pumped cargo from a Russian icebreaker transporting LNG. After this, the ship will go to the port of Milford Haven, from the re-gasification terminal of which the gas will be sent to consumers.

Novatek and Royal Dutch Shell did not comment on this information.

The first batch of liquefied natural gas from Russia was taken by the United Kingdom at the end of last year.
