Quarantined Man Jumps from Fourth Floor

A 26-year-old man has jumped from the 4th floor of one of the quarantine zones in Batumi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports.

“An investigation established that Georgian citizen P.J. (DoB 1993) entered Georgia through the “Sarpi” border crossing point on August 13 and was transferred to one of the hotels located in quarantine zone along with accompanying persons, there being accommodated in a hotel room.
On August 14, P.J. who behaved inadequately and aggressively, at this point for unknown reasons, unexpectedly jumped from the fourth floor of the hotel.
P.J. has been transferred to Batumi International Hospital,” reads the MIA statement, published on Friday.

The man, who jumped just a few hours after being put in quarantine, is currently unconscious. He remains at Batumi International Hospital.

“His health condition is severe, he had numerous bone fractures when he got in at 4am this morning,” Radio Tavisupleba quoted a representative from Batumi International Hospital.

The premises of the man’s action have yet to be revealed. An investigation is underway under the article 115 (Incitement of Suicide) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
