Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Finance Diaspora Projects

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has created a grant program to finance projects pursued by members of the Georgian diaspora, the Ministry announced in a press release.

Among the goals of the “Promotion of Diaspora Initiatives” is to “preserve national and cultural identity,” “develop public diplomacy,” and “protect the interests and rights [of Georgians in the diaspora].” The pilot program will receive 500,000 GEL from the Ministry’s budget.

Georgian citizens will be able to submit their projects electronically from May 14 to June 14 2019 at Each grant recipient will receive no more than 30,000 GEL.
