“Tsinandali” 2018 Nominees Announced

Zurab Zhvania’s “Tsinandali Prize” Jury revealed 24 nominees in 8 fields of science and arts.

The competition of “Tsinandali Prize” 2018 was held in the period of 17-29 September. 18-30 year old young scientists and artists had the opportunity to present projects among the eight nominations in the competition. The Tsinandali Award serves to popularize achievements in contemporary art and science, and promote talent among young, prospective artists or scientists. For years, the "Tsinandali Prize" has helped talented young people who have contributed to the development of modern Georgian culture and science.

The list of nominees of the Tsinandali Prize 2018 include:

• Theatrical Art: Natalia Kuloshvili, Saba Aslamazishvili, Luka Intskirveli

• Cinematography: Giorgi Tavartkiladze, Grigol Abashidze, Ani Ninidze

• Literature (Prose): Bakur Gabunia, David Gorgiladze, Tornike Gogniashvili

• Literature (Poetry): Nini Eliashvili, Alexander Lortkipanidze, Nika Lashkhia

• Music: Anzor Gudushauri composer, Tornike Margvelashvili, Sandro Sidamonidze

• Visual Art: Shota Aptsiauri, Nika Kutateladze, Nato Bagrationi

• Natural Sciences: Giorgi Tepnadze, Irakli Mgebrishvili, Alexander Japaridze

• Humanitarian Sciences: Kakhaber Kalichava, Zurab Targamadze, Levan Beburishvili

The laureates of "Tsinandali Prize” 2018 will be presented at the official award ceremony, which will be held on Friday, 12 October at 19:30 at the Artistic Space "Republic" Republic.

The awards of “Tsinandali Prize" include a diploma, a prize and GEL4,000 GEL.

From 2014 to date, the project has been implemented under the patronage of the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili.

Supporters include: "Silk Road Group", Artistic Space "Republic", Yamaha and the Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet.

On 12 October, Mariam Aleksidze, choreographer of the Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi modern ballet, symphony orchestra conductor Kaxa Solomonishvili, Ana Chania, Sandro Nebieridze and Eka Giorgadze will participate in the award ceremony and gala concert. The evening will be hosted by Georgian film and theater star Ia Sukhitashvili.
