EU Ambassador in Georgia: “This is Time for Me to Leave”

Yesterday, EU Ambassador Janos Herman made a somewhat emotional farewell speech, as his mission in Georgia comes to a close. Herman has been the EU Ambassador since 2014 and, as he said, in four years “quite a lot happened”.

He listed the efforts made during those four years and pointed out the achievements made in EU-Georgia relations. In particular, the Ambassador highlighted the Association Agreement and the visa liberalization.

“Nobody gave more financial support than the EU did,” he said.

The EU has also helped Georgia in terms of Human Rights and Energy efficiency over recent years.

For the future, he said he expects more active cooperation in security.
