Advertising agency Kraken began a campaign on the 10th anniversary of the 2008 August War to raise awareness and to illustrate that there is no barrier to consciousness in the digital world. Since Georgians do not have the possibility to physically enter the breakaway territories occupied by Russia, Kraken has come up with a way to harness the power of social media to protest the Russian occupation, with people able to use the hashtag and “check in” to various villages throughout the occupied territories.
