De Facto South Ossetia Occupants Arrest 22-Year Old Georgian

De Facto South Ossetia’s "Road Inspection" arrested a 22-year old Georgian man yesterday for “illegal crossing of the border.”

Georgia’s Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili says the man is an internally displaced person from occupied South Ossetia, living in Tbilisi.

Tsikhelashvili says that all relevant structures are involved in the case, and notes that the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) has also been informed.

“Such unlawful detentions are violations of fundamental human rights. This not only illegal, but provocative,” Tsikhelashvili said, adding everything is being done to have the young man released as soon as possible.
