Anna Tatishvili, is the best tennis player to play in the $220,000 price tournament in Baku. According to the local news agency, Tatishvili defeated Georgian tennis player Tatia Mikadze with 7:6 6:3 at the Eight-final on July 21.
Tatishvili’s rival is Russian Vera Zvonariova the No.3 seed of the world.
The director of the tournament is a well-known veteran Georgian tennis player and the president of the Tennis Federation of Georgia, Leila Meskhi.

Success of youth basketball team

The youth basketball team of Georgia has become the winner in the qualifying round of the European Championship at Bosnia.
According to Radio Kalaki, the Georgian team defeated their Czech rivals at the semifinal by the score of 74-72. Next, they defeated Estonia by the score of 79-70.
Through this victory, the Georgian team has reached the A division and will play with best basketball teams of Europe beginning next year.

Dinamo defeated Llanneli

Football Club Tbilisi Dinamo defeated Welsh Llanelli decidedly by the score of 5-0.
According to the local news agency GH, goals were scored by almost all Georgian legionaries.
The match was held in Tbilisi. Three goals were scored by the Georgian team in the first half and two goals in the second half.

FC “Zestafoni” reached the third qualifying round of Champions League

FC “Zestafoni”, the National Football Champion of Georgia, reached the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
According to the local news agency GH, after two matches FC “Zestafoni” accumulated total score 3-2 against the Dacia, Moldovan champion. The first match was held on July 13 in Zestafoni and the hosts won 3-0. On July 20 in Moldova, the second match was held with Dacia winning 0-2. In spite of this result, the Georgian team managed to reach the next stage.
